Heya. tylorael pointed me your way. I'm contemplating joining WW, and she mentioned that you were a great resource and a positive influence. That said, I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter. ;) Heh. May I add you?
Granted, I haven't posted in a while (been hellishly busy with work and personal life), but feel free to read.
I lost 75 pounds on WW, was a Group Leader for them for about 2 years, and am now working as a personal trainer, so if you have any fitness questions, feel free to ask.
I'll also put you on my (now pretty much extinct) Personal Evolution filter, so you can see the change my body went through if you so choose.
Fantastic. Thank you. :) I'll sift through the old posts tomorrow. I'm also working on a fitness goal (it's always more than just the food, right?), and I might have some questions about some of the strength training I'm doing. My old Phys Ed instructor developed a circuit for me, and I'm starting back with that for now.
Good stuff. Just a heads-up on the filter's posts - they aren't exactly worksafe (they feature mostly-unflattering pics of me in underwear to mark the progress my body went through). So if you're planning on reading them at work, I'd skip that idea.
As for your fitness goal, you're absolutely right. Proper nutrition is the main component in overall health and fitness (it's really about 70% of the total package), but supplementation, resistance training, cardiorespiratory reaining, and personal assistance are all critical components as well.
Feel free to shoot me any questions you may have about strength training as well. Not sure how much tylorael told you about me, but I am a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer and have many resources at my disposal as a result. Granted, finding a CPT in your area whom you can meet with face-to-face is ideal, but I'll see what I can do for you from afar, if need be.
Good luck with the circuit! Just remember to vary it, to keep your body from adapting. (The same can be said for your food plan.)
Fantastic - thanks so much! :) I appreciate your offer for assistance, and I'll let you know if I have any questions. My biggest hang-up right now is proper form on a lot of things (especially squats and lunges), so that I don't injure myself. I assume that's where the face-to-face assistance part comes in. Hehe.
I'm keeping most of my fitness stuff logged over in denovo, until I decide to move it back over again. I sort of like having it all to its own, over there.
Also - will you be at Convergence? I'll be heading down with a group of friends, and we're celebrating my 30th birthday while I'm there. Let me know! Perhaps I could say hi. :)
I will most definitely be at C14. My fiancee is on the committee, and I'm the damn fool who gave the organizers the idea for the thing in the first place.
Hey Xany, it's Gala. I'll be rooming with spud and Anastasia at Convergence.
I want to run some ideas past you for C14, specifically an a.g.f. shopping trip. CarrieMonster is down for the concept, but I'll need some help since I'm not local.
email me at galaofcadeques at yahoo dot com. Let the plotting commence.
